Great night out at the Southern Nevada Building Trades Union Sportsman’s Dinner. These incredibly hard working men and women definitely build it better, faster, and bigger here in LV. Fair wages for hard work - safe workplaces - building a community we can all be proud of. Thank you @vegasvincenv and @snbtu1960 and all the union affiliates and members in attendance for an incredible evening.

Shout out to the Public Education Foundation for recognizing my colleague Family Court Judge Adriana Rincon White at last night‘s Hispanic and Latino Legacy Dinner. Judge White embodies courage and perseverance. She’s an incredible role model for those PEF scholarship students and many others like them who aspire for more. It was an honor to support her and the other honorees as well as this terrific organization.

Danielle and I walked the Vegas Strong 5k race today with Angela and Mary. Two incredible mothers who lost a son (Jordan) and a daughter (Jordyn) in the 1 October shooting. I learned so much about their families, their healing journey, and the remarkable community support they have received. Their stories heartbreaking - and their courage inspiring. No parent should ever experience such loss. We walked with them today, sharing beautiful memories and paying tribute to those lost too soon. #vegasstrong❤️ #vegasstrong5k2025 #smilelikejordynrivera

We have too many elementary schools where reading scores are below 30%. What if I told you we could increase those scores 20 percentage points in just 2 years? Would you believe me? That’s exactly what we accomplished when @spreadthewordnv partnered with Cozine Elementary School in North Las Vegas. The results prove we can turn the tide. But there is still a long way to go. I love that Danielle is always willing to trade a dinner date for a charity event that feeds the soul more so than our appetites. It’s not about votes or politics but supporting our community. The Silver State Education Foundation Inaugural Homegrown Heroes Gala honoring Mayors Pamela Goynes Brown and Shelley Berkeley was special indeed. Did you know? CCSD has begun every school year since 1994 with a teacher shortage. These community heroes are filling that gap by making college accessible for local high school students (often the first in their family to attend college) so they can teach and inspire the next generation. You can’t help but end the night feeling energized and with a sense we should all be doing more.

Two years ago today - I swore an oath to uphold the law - to ensure the integrity of our courts - to protect children and the rights of parents. The work is hard, the hours long, and scrutiny comes from all directions. Every day is equal measures challenging and rewarding. And I don’t plan on stopping any time soon. #vote2026

CONGRATS to my friend and colleague Judge Sunny Bailey for being recognized with Southern Nevada Association of Women Attorneys Trailblazer Award. Judge Bailey is a true champion for children. Her innovative DAAY court focuses on providing services aimed to help youth with Autism remain out of the criminal justice system. Shout out to the other honorees as well ADR/Discovery Commissioner Erin Truman and Attorney Candace Carlyon.

My kids are gonna kill me for posting these pics - but they grew up with access to books in a way that far too many children in our community do not share. We are on a mission to change that for every child in Nevada.

Hard to believe I have been a member of the Clark County Bar Association for 31 years. We are so fortunate in Southern Nevada to have such an incredibly close knit legal community made up of dedicated judges, attorneys, paralegals, and support staff. #MeetTheJudges is always a highlight for me.

Boyd School of Law at UNLV Dean Leah Chan Grinvald, Tick Segerblom, and many other deserving leaders. Thank you always to AAG Board Members Rita Vaswani, Harry Singh, Lela Alasania Palsgrove, Garima Bhardwaj, and Rupee Chima for an enjoyable evening.
